Welp Wednesdays: The Propaganda Is On Ten
Welp, the propaganda seeping out of both the Republican and Democratic parties is on ten.
Last week, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) highlighted issues around race, healthcare, the economy, and decency. The chosen speakers (there were a lot of Black people and women), panel discussions, and videos all made the emotional case for Joe Biden. They also equated the Democratic Party to women's rights, Black Lives Matter, respectability, and more.
Although the DNC clearly was strategic in its production, one could argue that its propaganda messages were not as direct as the Republican National Convention's (RNC's). Throughout the week, the RNC has made a deliberate effort to paint Donald Trump as America's great savior. According to the RNC, a vote for Donald Trump will bring law and order, more COVID-19 relief, tax cuts for the working class, preservation of American history (e.g. controversial statues of Confederate leaders), and unity. After all, "America is not racist."

It's interesting to see current events tie directly into our game, Catty Liberal. In Catty Liberal, players have to acquire four different Campaign cards to win. One of those Campaign cards is "Raise Money."
According to Joe Biden's team, Donald Trump's campaign is waving its "Raise Money" card loud and clear. Donald Trump outraised the Democratic ticket by $25 million in July. That is a very significant difference and may show that Trump supporters are active more than ever.
No matter what political side you're on, you have to admit that the Republican Party is energizing Trump's base. Trump supporters want to hear that America is the best and they are getting just that.
